Safety and Security

Every comprehensive school in our district has a School Resource Officer (SRO). Our schools partner with the Oxnard Police Department and Ventura County Sheriff’s Department to assign SROs on a long-term basis, providing enhanced safety services for students and staff.

SROs respond to police service calls on and around campus, assisting patrol units and supporting school administrators in maintaining a safe learning environment. Their visible presence helps deter trespassers and ensures quick identification of potential threats. SROs also bring specialized training and expertise in handling situations involving weapons, controlled substances, and other safety concerns.

Beyond security, the SRO program fosters ongoing positive interactions between local law enforcement and students, helping to build trust and strengthen relationships within the school community.
