Star Athlete of the Week: Hunter Virant

Has delivered a series of big performances for the Scorpions. He followed up his perfect game against Rio Mesa on March 22 with a four-hitter and 3-2 win over Oxnard last Tuesday. Along the way, he ran his string of consecutive batters retired to 33 before allowing a leadoff single in the fifth.

Camarillo’s Virant commits to UCLA

Camarillo High junior Hunter Virant has made a verbal commitment to play baseball at UCLA. Virant was the Scorpions’ center fielder for much of his sophomore season. He also plays first base and pitches. The talented student-athlete bats right-handed and throws left-handed.
