He scored a season-high 32 points with seven assists and four steals to lead an 83-65 victory over Channel Islands on Friday. His four 3-pointers and 22 points in Wednesday’s win over Hueneme gave him the program’s single-season 3-point record with 48. The Scorpions hold first-place in the Pacific View League at 7-0 (19-5 overall).

Star Athlete of the Week: Hunter Virant

Projected as one of the top pitchers in Southern California, Virant was dominant in the Pacific View League opener. He pitched a two-hit shutout and struck out 13 batters to spark Camarillo’s 1-0 victory over Channel Islands last Tuesday.

Star Athlete of the Week: Evan Yoshimoto

With the Scorpions in line for a strong season, the senior outside is helping spark a star. Camarillo finished second in its own tournament, then led a win over Oaks Christian. He has 68 kills, 23 assists and seven blocks this season.

Star Athlete of the Week: Riley Abraham

The 6-foot-1 center scored 21 points and grabbed 18 rebounds in a win over Channel Islands and managed 19 points and 25 rebounds in a win over Pacifica. Abraham is averaging 14.0 points and 17.2 rebounds per game.
