Dear OUHSD Families,

Like you, we are all concerned about the spread of the novel coronavirus and the uncertainty it’s creating in our daily lives. Last night, the Ventura County Public Health department declared a local health emergency, which will provide additional resources for corona virus response. As a result of this declaration and in the interest of the health of our community, Oxnard Union High School District has decided to close all of our schools beginning Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 20. We hope to reopen on Monday, March 23, but that decision will depend on the circumstances at the time. We will update families about our plans no later than Friday, March 20. All school activities are cancelled while our schools are closed, including athletics, performances, competitions of any kind and parent meetings.

Food Service

We will continue to serve meals on a ‘grab n’ go’ basis, through which students may receive bags of food every day from 10:00-1:00 p.m. Understanding potential limitations of transportation for some of our students who must be bused to school. below are the locations where food may be picked-up for any student:

  • Adolfo Camarillo S.
  • Channel Islands
  • Hueneme
  • Oxnard
  • Pacifica
  • Rio Mesa and Rio Vista Middle School

Condor H.S., Frontier H.S. and Oxnard Middle College High Schools students may receive food at any of the schools listed above. Rancho Campana and C.A.P.E. can pick-up meals at Adolfo Camarillo H.S.

We understand that school closures have significant impacts on our students and families, and we hope to resume normal operations as soon as possible. We thank you for your understanding during this challenging time.

In service,

Penelope A. DeLeon, Superintendent, Oxnard Union High School District
