Good morning, OUHSD Families,

Our OUHSD staff has been working around the clock to prepare to deliver distance learning to our students.  This includes cleaning and tagging nearly 2,000 laptops and ordering hotspots to ensure that every student is able to access online learning.   We expect to extend our school closure and have a phone conference this afternoon with county officials to determine the length of extended closure.  You will receive a letter explaining the details of the closure, as well as our plan for distribution of laptops/hotspots and how to access distance learning by Wednesday this week.  Also, please know that we are in collaboration with The College Board, who has agreed to work with individual districts to postpone SAT and AP testing as needed.

As a reminder, students/families may stop by to get their ‘grab n’ go’ meals beginning today and everyday thereafter from 10:00- 1:00 p.m. at the sites below:

  • Adolfo Camarillo H.S.
  • Channel Islands H.S.
  • Hueneme H.S.
  • Oxnard H.S.
  • Pacifica H.S.
  • Rio Mesa H.S.
  • Rio Vista M.S.
  • Just added:  Nyeland Acres Community Center

We know this is a difficult time for everyone, and we appreciate your patience as we try to provide the best possible service for our students and staff.

In service,

Penelope A. DeLeon, Ed.D.

Superintendent of Schools
Oxnard Union High School District
