NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING BY THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE OXNARD UNION HIGH SCHOOL REGARDING ITS INTENTION TO REQUEST A WAIVER FROM THE STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION RELATIVE TO THE SALE OF SURPLUS REAL PROPERTY AND THE PUBLIC AUCTION REQUIREMENTS FOR CERTAIN DISTRICT OWNED REAL PROPERTY LOCATED AT OR NEAR 3400 GONZALEZ ROAD (COUNTY OF VENTURA), 527 HUENEME ROAD (OXNARD), 280 AND 330 SKYWAY DRIVE (CAMARILLO), AND 220 AND 309-315 K STREET PROPERTIES (OXNARD).
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Trustees (“Board”) of the Oxnard Union High School District (“District”) will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at 5:30 p.m., or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, at the District’s regularly scheduled board meeting, to be held in the District Office Board Room located at 220 South K Street, Oxnard, California 93030. The subject of the public hearing will be the Board’s proposed request to the California State Board of Education for a waiver from certain statutory requirements governing the potential sale of certain real properties located at 3400 Gonzalez Road in the County of Ventura (APN 183-0-030-180), 527 Hueneme Road in the City of Oxnard (APN 222-0-082-625), 220 and 309-315 South K Streets in the City of Oxnard (APN 202-0-010-740 and 202-0-010-630 (partial)) and 280 and 330 Skyway Drive in the City of Camarillo (APN 230-0-030-105). Such statutory requirements generally require that the District engage in a public auction/bidding process to sell the property, as stated in Education Code §§ 17385 through 17484. The purpose of the Public Hearing is to receive public testimony and comments on the proposed waiver from the above-referenced statutory requirements.
Interested persons may appear before the Board regarding such waiver request at the above-referenced time and place. Written comments on such waiver request must be submitted to the Board no later than the conclusion of the Public Hearing and may be submitted in advance of such date and time to the District’s Board, Attn: Mr. Jeffrey Weinstein, Assistant Superintendent of Business Services, 309 S. K Street, Oxnard, CA 93030. Written comments presented or received after the close of the Public Hearing will not be considered by the Board.
