Dear Aquatic Community,
Oxnard Union High School District would like to express its gratitude for a great summer last year; we had over 600 applicants during the 8 weeks of the Learn to Swim Program.
During the summer this year, Oxnard High School’s Aquatic Center has plans to renovate the facility, which will affect our plans for this year’s summer Learn to Swim Program. Although we are ecstatic for the revamping of the pool, this will significantly impact our high school teams that normally practice at the Oxnard Aquatic Center. Several teams will be displaced and relocated at other aquatic centers located at Rio Mesa High School, Adolfo Camarillo High School, and Hueneme High School. Due to minimal space, the Learn to Swim Program will not be offered at any of our facilities this year, nor will recreational swim or lap swim. All aquatic activities located at the Oxnard Aquatic Center will conclude on June 13, 2019 and will resume as early as September. We look forward to continuing the Learn to Swim Program next year.
We would like to take this opportunity and encourage our community to join our aquatic team and become part of the Learn to Swim Program next year. By taking interest in getting certified by the Red Cross, as a Water Safety Instructor or a Lifeguard; the program is kept alive.
During our brief hiatus, our management team will come together and work diligently to build a stronger, more effective program. We thank you for your support and understanding, until next year.
