Flier promoting town hall meeting to discuss new oxnard high school

Tell Us How to Build the Next Great High School for Oxnard

OXNARD, CA – The Oxnard Union High School district invites the public to review and comment on the proposed design and layout for OUHSD’s new high school.

The meeting will be at 6 p.m. on Oct. 11 in the OUHSD Board Room, 220 South K Street.

Voters approved the Measure A bond issue in June that included money for a new high school. The district is one of the very few school districts in the area to be experiencing an increase in enrollment. Two high schools in the area – Oxnard High School and Pacifica High School – are well beyond recommended capacity. The new high school, to be built at Rose and Camino Del Sol, will handle the overflow and bring all three schools to appropriate enrollment.

OUHSD officials and representatives of WLC Architects will be on hand to present the proposed design for the new school, proposed classroom layouts, and give an update on the district’s progress. The school is expected to be ready for students in the 2022-23 school year.

We strongly encourage parents and members of the community to attend this meeting and give us input, this school belongs to the public and we want to hear from them about what they want.

The school will eventually be home to 2,400 students.
