On Tuesday, May 24, the Frontier High School Leos proudly presented a check for $10,000 to the Health Care Foundation for Ventura County. This check will be used towards being founding members of the Lions’ Pediatric Vision Center of Ventura County. This project will provide on the spot vision diagnosis and care for ALL children in Ventura and Santa Barbara counties, regardless of their ability to pay. In addition to service projects, such as beach clean-ups, the Leos also earned money by working at events like the Moorpark Pumpkin Patch. This money was then directed toward community projects that the students felt were most in need. In addition to this donation, the FHS Leos have sponsored a Ventura County child for a week long stay at summer camp for the Junior Blind, and made donations to the Autism Society, Breast Cancer Research and UNICEF, among others.
