bm-20161019-1On October 19th, the Board recognized the following people students from Oxnard and Adolfo Camarillo High School.

Ashley and Jorge Limon (from Oxnard High School) have been integral participants in School Site Council, LCAP and English Learner Advisory Committee meeting at the site and District level for 2 years. They tirelessly work with all of us to ensure educational and social justice exists in our institution.

ACHS Senior, Alexander Li, recently won the LA Metropolitan Transportation Agency art contest.  His art will be featured on the sides of the tunnel boring machines for the new Metro.   The award ceremony will be Oct 19. bm-20161019-3

He is also president of our Naturally Green Club doing amazing things – for example, he did a large student transportation needs study last year, and coordinated a site tour with the City of Camarillo and Harrison & Sons yesterday to coordinate our recycling programs.  He attended the Green Schools presentation at Oak Park High School as well to get ideas. He has a 4.67 cumulative GPA on a 5.0 scale.  4.0 on a 4.0 scale.

bm-20161019-2ACHS sophomore, Jaime Jaquez, participated in the eighth annual USA Basketball Men’s Junior National Team October Minicamp, Oct 8-9, 2016, at the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  He was one of 54 players, including 19 other sophomores and 3 other players from California.  The minicamp is designed to familiarize players with USA Basketball and to help USA Basketball field competitive, experienced teams for upcoming competitions. Jaime has a 3.64 GPA on a 4.0 scale; 3.79 on a 5.0 scale
