The Spartans have tantalizing talent.
Rio Mesa High’s girls’ water polo team can score in flurries, features half a dozen players with league MVP talent and possesses a voracious desire to win. The Spartans, ranked No. 3 in the newest CIF-Southern Section Division 5 coaches’ poll, have visions of celebrating their first section crown in school history.
“Potentially, this is the best team we’ve ever had,” head coach Keith McKnett said.
The Spartans are still figuring out their roles while developing consistency. There’s one big question: Can they get hot in the playoffs?
