Hueneme High School was awarded a ‘Silver Star” and ranked as one of the best high schools at the state and national level by U.S. News & World Report. In order to be ranked, a school must be awarded a national gold or silver medal.

At the state level, Hueneme High school was ranked 455 out of 2,199 high schools placing us in the top 25% or with in the top 500 best high schools. California is home to more than 900 schools ranked among the 2015 U.S. News Best High Schools. And HHS has the highest rankings of any high school in the Oxnard Plain. There are 522 school districts in our state and our district was well represented having three high schools in the national rankings.

At the national level, US News and World Report reviewed 29,070 public high schools in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Some of those schools had to be eliminated from consideration, mainly because they were too small to be analyzed. This reduced the count to 19,753 and out of the schools that qualified, Hueneme High School was ranked 2,078 placing us in the top 11%.
