On Oct 2, 2015, 34 of the finest cadets from Oxnard High School’s Air Force Junior ROTC Program traveled to Edwards Air Force Base to learn first-hand how the Air Force flies, fights, and wins.
The cadets were led by their Corps Commander, Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Felipe and his Vice Commander, Cadet Major Hannah Quiroz. Cadets toured the Edwards Aviation museum, saw many of the base facilities, drove on the flightline, and went into hangars to see F-16s and the Global Hawk Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. They also saw F-22s, the new Joint Strike Fighter (F-35s), the B-2 Bomber, a U-2, and many other aircraft. They finished the day by touring an Air Force dormitory to see how active duty airman live on a day-to-day basis.
The cadets were proud and in awe of the amazing work the Air Force is doing to protect and defend our country.
