Oxnard High School Senior and Marching Band member Jonathan Vanlandingham was selected to march with the Tournament of Roses Honor Band for the 2014 Rose Parade.

Marching in every Rose Parade since 1930, the Tournament of Roses Honor Band has a long-standing tradition of musical excellence. The band is comprised of Lancer Marching Band members and exceptional high school musicians auditioned from throughout Southern California. Over six-hundred high school students audition each year for the 200 plus spots in the band and pageantry. The Honor Band rehearses every Sunday in November and December and almost every day during the winter break to prepare for the six mile trek down Colorado Blvd. The students will have marched over 25 miles in rehearsal before they step off on the parade route on January 1. This is one reason why the Tournament of Roses Honor Band looks and sounds as good at the end of the parade as they do at the beginning
