In the last three years Hueneme High School Naval Junior Reserve Officers Corps (NJROTC) students have been awarded more than half a million dollars in college scholarships. A direct reflection of the Hueneme NJROTC program’s core values of “Honor Courage Commitment”, including the values of citizenship, Service to the United States, and Personal Responsibility
Congratulation to Alexander Cruz, a senior at Hueneme HS. This multi-talented NJROTC student was selected to receive a 4-year $200,000 scholarship to a college of his choice which includes a $250-$350 a month stipend. Alexander Cruz is a 3 year member of the Hueneme HS NJROTC Program and currently holds the position of NJROTC Company Commander.
Throughout his participation in NJROTC, Alexander Cruz has worked hard to position himself to receive this prestigious scholarship. Alexander is a member of the Hueneme Math Engineering Science Achievement Team (MESA), Member of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) and a Member of the Hueneme High School Engineering Academy.
Alexander also gives back to his community by volunteering numerous hours of service to the Oxnard Community and participates in many local festivals, parades, and beach clean-up.
