The Camarillo High boys’ and girls’ basketball teams are playing well at the end of the regular season. The Scorpion boys defeated Rio Mesa 59-56 on Wednesday at home to secure the Pacic View League championship. The Scorpions are 22-5 overall and 9-1 in league. Entering Thursday’s game at Pacifica, the Camarillo girls’ team earned at least a share of the Pacific View crown. Results of that game were not available at press time. In the photo above, Camarillo’s Kyle Palmer, left, and Ardavan Seif, center, defend Rio Mesa’s Anthony Teart in January. At left, Scorpion Kristi Nishimori dribbles the ball against Mater Dei on Jan. 12. The Scorpion girls were 17-9 overall, 8-1 in league entering Thursday’s outing. The CIF-Southern Section will release playo seedings for both squads on Sunday.
