Oxnard Union High School District has been picked to participate in a new state program that aims to prepare high school students with the skills they will need to succeed in careers and in college.
The school district is one of 20 educational organizations across the state chosen by the California Department of Education for the Linked Learning pilot program.
It’s the result of legislation (Assembly Bill 790) passed last year that called for the development of programs that integrate academics, technical training and work-based learning to equip students with the skills and knowledge that California employers say they need.
The state’s pilot program will be used to assess how Linked Learning can be expanded to schools across California.
