OHS Marching Band & Auxiliary awarded at Royal competition

October 14, 2013– The Oxnard High School Marching Band & Auxiliary competed in the Royal High School’s annual marching band tournament on Saturday, October 12, 2013, and brought home First Place in their division. The OHS Color Guards brought home Third Place in their division. This event is the marching band & auxiliary’s first field competition this season and they are off to a great start.

The Oxnard Yellow Jacket Marching Band & Auxiliary is led under the direction of Band Director Fundi Legohn who entered his 22nd season this year as Oxnard High School’s music and band director.

Drum Majors are Jonathan Vanlandingham and Kristian Harvuot.

The marching Yellow Jackets next competition is this Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Chaffey High School located in Ontario, California.

The OHS Marching Band & Auxiliary will also be hosting its 29th Annual Field Competition on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at OHS Houser Stadium from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. For ticket information, please visit the band’s website at or visit the band’s Facebook page at
