Greg Minier measures in at a sturdy 6-foot-4 and 200 pounds, possesses a strong left pitching arm and swings a potent bat.

But it’s what’s between his ears that is hastening his development as a collegiate prospect.

“I know I’m listening to my coaches and trying to learn the lessons,” says the Channel Islands High senior. “I’m doing everything I can to get better.”

Mission accomplished.

Minier wasn’t pleased with a junior season that saw him finish with a 2-4 record on the mound and a 5.91 ERA. In 21.1 innings, he allowed 27 hits and 36 runs, including 18 earned. At the plate, he batted .296.
