Oxnard Union High School is excited to inform parents and students that all students will have free access to summer enrichment through Shmoop. Shmoop is a digital curriculum and test prep company that makes fun, rigorous learning and teaching materials. Shmoop content is written by master teachers and Ph.D. students from Stanford, Harvard, UC Berkeley, and other top universities. Shmoop Learning Guides, Test Prep, and Teacher’s Editions balance a teen-friendly, approachable style with academically rigorous materials to help students understand how subjects relate to their daily lives. Shmoop offers more than 7,000 titles across the Web, iPhone, Android devices, iPad, Kindle, Nook, and Sony Reader. This summer all students, including our incoming freshmen and Adult Education students have the opportunity for free access to Shmoop. Personal accounts will enable them access to practice exams, drill problems, and review guides to all the topics that will be on the exams. Each practice problem comes with in-depth explanations, and even projected exam scores to help your student prep for the big day.
This is a great opportunity to get ahead, continue enrichment during the summer, prepare for college, prepare for the California High School Exit Exam (CAHSEE), and enhance knowledge for Advanced Placement courses. Teachers will also receive free access to the teacher resources. Students or parents can stop by their student’s school office to pick up a flyer with the access password and link for the free account or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Shmoop currently offers individual prep programs for each of the following exams: SAT, PSAT, ACT, SAT Subjects, CAHSEE, Advanced Placement, and GED.
