Alison Stymacher has thrown out only five runners this season. But that’s because only five runners have attempted to steal on her.
Opponents have learned it’s not wise to test the Rio Mesa High senior catcher.
“Teams know of her strong, accurate arm,” Rio Mesa High coach John Velasquez said. “Defensively, she is at the top. Alison is the caliber of player who does not come around often in a coach’s career. It has been a pleasure watching such as skilled catcher play.”
Stymacher has provided plenty of highlight plays in four seasons.
