October 16, 2012 – The Oxnard High School Marching Band & Auxiliary competed in the Royal High School’s marching band field competition last Saturday, October 13, 2012, and brought home First Place in their division. The OHS Color Guards brought home Second Place in their division. This is quite an accomplishment since the Guard consists of only two members. This event is the band & auxiliary’s first field competition this season.

The Oxnard Yellow Jacket Marching Band & Auxiliary is led under the direction of Band Director Fundi Legohn. This season marks Legohn’s 21st marching band season as Oxnard High School’s music and band director.

Drum Majors are Ryan Le and Jonathan Vanlandingham.

Their next competition is Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Simi Valley High School located at 5400 Cochran St., in Simi Valley. The OHS Marching Band & Auxiliary will also be hosting its 28th Annual Field Competition on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at OHS Houser Stadium from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. For ticket information, please visit the band’s website at or visit the band’s Facebook page at
