The high school—called an academy by district officials— will have performing arts, engineering and design, and biomedical programs. The campus will serve about 700 students and is expected to open in August 2015.
The first community forum to discuss the new school will be at the Center for Spiritual Living in Camarillo, at 340 Mobil Ave., from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sun., May 6 .
“We’re going to show (the community) the educational concept of the program,” said Gabe Soumakian, the district’s superintendent. “They will have the opportunity to ask questions and we’ll give them the best response we can.”
