On March 17th, 2012, cadets from the Air Force Junior ROTC Program at Oxnard High School held their annual Military Ball at the five-star Embassy Suites Mandalay Bay Beach Resort in Oxnard.

More than 100 students and parents enjoyed a dinner, awards presentation, and dancing. The Color Guard posted the colors, Elizabeth Hernandez sang our National Anthem, and the saber team formed a “saber arch” for award-winners to pass through.

After a wonderful dinner and remarks by Major Weaver (Director), Master Sergeant Emmons (Instructor), and Cadet Lieutenant Colonel Robert Miller (Cadet Corps Commander), awards were presented.

Nathan Harry and Lorena Cruz were voted the Prince and Princess, Leo Campos and Emmelia Rea were voted Duke and Duchess, and Robert Miller and Marissa Lunn were voted King and Queen of the Military Ball. Other award winners included Nick Lajcin(most athletic), Leo Campos (best-looking in uniform), and Terry Walters (most likely to get stuck behind a desk for 20 years!) A good time was had by all!
