No matter how chaotic things get or how far his team strays, Oxnard High boys basketball coach Jeff Staniland knows he can always count on his dynamic duo.

Matt Ramon and Dan Wade are like a tag-team security blanket for the Yellowjackets. They are like a compass that guides Oxnard through any rough stretches.

The senior captains did it again on Friday night.

Ramon scored 26 points and grabbed 18 rebounds and Wade steadied Oxnard on both ends of the floor to lead the Yellowjackets to a 56-40 victory over Rio Mesa at Rio Mesa High.
