
Camarillo High’s Daniel Kodama, at 115 pounds, celebrated his third Pacific View League wrestling championship in his fourth finals appearance Saturday at Hueneme.Kodama was the lower-weight MVP. Hueneme’s Jesus Mondragon (222) was the upper-weight MVP after his 6-4 decision over Rio Mesa’s Joseph Ramirez in the final.
Channel Islands’ Richard Sierra was the coach of the year with 11 CIF qualifiers for the Coastal Division individual meet at Pacifica in two weeks.
Pacifica had eight CIF qualifiers. Channel Islands and Pacifica, who shared the dual meet league championship, will wrestle in the CIF duals next weekend at Santa Fe High.
