
For a chance to be the champs, the Camarillo High girls basketball players knew they had to beat the champs.The Scorpions finally broke through on Thursday night, defeating three-time defending Pacific View League champion Pacifica 58-44 at Camarillo High.
Camarillo (15-5, 3-0) snapped a 13-game losing streak to the Tritons (8-9, 2-1) dating back to 2005.
“It was definitely a bucket-list team for sure. It feels completely awesome to finally beat them,” Camarillo senior guard Micaela Pericone-Kapp said. “This has been one of our priorities this season, and it had to be done. It just had to be done.”
