Seventeen seasons with the Camarillo High baseball program, including the last nine as the head coach, has brought Richard Jaquez up close and personal with a slew of star power.A lot of memory-makers, too.

“That’s probably the thing I’ll remember most,” Jaquez said. “I’ve been fortunate to coach so many great players. They’ve made the game fun to be around. They’ve kept the success going for our program.”

Through the years, Camarillo has retained its status as a perpetual Pacific View League strongboy and CIF-Southern Section contender. Beginning next year, the Scorpions will have to do it under a different leader.
