As school starts, the Oxnard Union High School District is moving forward with plans to build two more high schools.

Property has already been purchased for a new school next the Camarillo Library.

Now they have to hire an architect.

The board also voted to try to purchase 120 acres just North of Wooley Road and East of Harbor Boulevard for a new Oxnard school.

The new Superintendent says two of the district’s 8 campuses have three thousand students.

They include Oxnard and Pacifica High Schools.

Funding from measure H bonds would help pay for the schools.

Dr. Gabe Soumakian says both schools will be state of the art, but he would not speculate on opening dates.
