October 18, 2011 – The Oxnard High School Marching Band & Auxiliary competed in the Royal High School’s marching band field ompetition last Saturday, October 15, 2011, winning 2 first place titles in their division for both auxiliary and percussion, as well as 3 separate sweepstakes awards for music, band and general effects!!

Scores/Results: -Band: 71.25 pts. (Sweepstakes) -Auxiliary: 61.5 pts. (1st place) -Percussion: 69.0 pts. (1st place) -High General Effect: 263.0 pts. -High Music: 308.5 pts.

The Oxnard Yellow Jacket Marching Band & Auxiliary is led under the direction of Band Director Fundi Legohn. 2012 will mark Legohn’s 20th year as Oxnard High School’s music and band director.

Drum Majors are Neal Goleta and Ryan Le.

Their next competition is Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Simi Valley High School located at 5400 Cochran St., in Simi Valley. The OHS Marching Band & Auxiliary will also be hosting its 27th Annual Field Competition on Saturday, November 12, 2011 at OHS Houser Stadium from 12 noon to 9 p.m. Pre-sale tickets will be available.
