Senior running back Dennis Taylor, playing in his final regular-season home game, rushed for 287 yards and three touchdowns and quarterback Nick Davis threw two touchdown passes and ran for another as Pacifica (3-6, 1-3) topped the 40-point mark for the fifth time this season in snapping a five-game losing streak.
The Tritons, who had surrendered 156 points in their last three games, made plenty of plays on defense as well as Pacifica held Hueneme to 212 yards in total offense and intercepted three passes.
“Defensively we were able to run around, swarm and we did not miss many tackles,” Pacifica coach Donnie Rea said. “In all honesty, Hueneme did not have its best player (quarterback Deshaun Nixon). Offensively, he does a lot of things and he’s a good defensive player.”
