When Oxnard High School Principal Eric Riegert was looking for role models to inspire his students, he went no further than a list of the school’s alumni. A total of 27 notable graduates were inducted into the Oxnard High School Hall of Fame Class of 2011 on Thursday at the school.”For the students, they can see other people who went to Oxnard High school doing great things, and we hope this inspires them to do great things,” Riegert said.Riegert introduced the 27 alumni and presented them, or a designated representative, with a plaque. He was assisted by former state Superintendent of Public Instruction Jack O’Connell, a 1969 graduate who was the first to be inducted to the Hall of Fame in February.

Bedford Pinkard, a member of the class of 1950, said he was honored to be chosen.
