With the last kick of the ball five minutes into second-half stoppage time, Angel Manriquez scrambled home the equalizing goal from a late corner kick as the Pacifica High boys’ soccer team saved a 1-1 tie with visiting Rio Mesa Tuesday afternoon.

Rio Mesa senior Alex Briceno gave the Spartans the lead from 25 yards out in the 12th minute. Eddie Macarana assisted on the goal. Juan Rodriguez played well at the back.

The result also leaves Rio Mesa (7-4-5) and Pacifica (7-3-4) tied in the Pacific View League standings at 1-0-3.
