IRVINE — Rio Mesa High sophomore diver Lester Wright likes the concept of the CIF-Southern Section Masters Swimming Meet at the William Woollett Jr. Aquatic Center on Tuesday.

“It’s tough competition,” said Wright of the 16 best competitors. This is the best meet to be at.

“It keeps me on my toes.”

Wright was fifth after the first three rounds before the swimming heats…

The Rio Mesa boys finished sixth in the 200 medley relay (1:39.52). Team members were Caulin Silber, Kyle Walthall, Nick Vallejo and Evan Vasquez).
