Principal Glenn Lipman was recognized by the Association of California School Administration (ACSA) as Outstanding Principal of the year for Region XIII for “promoting success in all students.” This includes San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties. The ceremony was held on March 22, 2011.
Lipman was nominated for this award by Superintendent Bob Carter who highlighted the school accomplishments under Lipman’s direction emphasizing his success in transforming the school over the past six years.
One of the changes that were instituted along with Lipman’s arrival is a reward system; honor roll, principal’s honor roll, and distinguished students which creates a “positive atmosphere,” and helps motivate students to do well.
Lipman conveys his appreciation for his achievements to those who make-up the school, “It’s all about the village; students, parents and staff. We have great students and supportive parents that help contribute to a successful school. Due to everyone’s hard work, ACHS is one of the top academic schools in California.”
