Hueneme hires new football coach

Nicholson Olmande, a five-year assistant coach at Hueneme High, has become the Vikings head football coach.

Olmande served the past four seasons with Joe Martinez, who left the program in June to move to Arizona.

Martinez’s brother, Richard, left Hueneme to be Oxnard High’s defensive coordinator.

Olmande is the sixth head football coach at Hueneme in the last 12 years. Other coaches in that span were Larry Miller, Marcus Turner, Ryan Huisenga and Steve Ruedaflores…
