High schools’ student leaders gather to share ideas

More than 80 students from Ventura County high schools participated in a leadership conference Friday at Camarillo High School.

The event was intended to motivate Associated Student Body Cabinet members to improve their leadership skills and share strategies for success.

“I just got the idea that kids could learn so much from one another and from what’s going on on other campuses,” said conference organizer Julie Riedmiller, Camarillo High activities director.

Members of the school’s ASB hosted breakout sessions on topics such as organizing dances and rallies, social issues and athletic, student and teacher recognition. …
