Graduating from high school is a memory still fresh in Andrew Gonzalez’s mind, yet he already feels withdrawals from being away from wrestling.

So Gonzalez is doing the next best thing. He is staying active and sharing his insight with a new generation of wrestlers.

“Already over the summer, I’ve started to miss it so I’m already working out with my team again, helping out other kids,” he said.

The Oxnard High graduate used a strong work ethic as the foundation for a successful academic and athletic career as a Yellowjacket. His hard work has earned him The Star’s Boys Scholar Athlete Award.

Gonzalez completed high school with a 4.346 GPA. He will continue his education this fall at Cornell University. Gonzalez plans to major in chemistry and go pre-med with the goal of becoming a doctor…
