Music Appreciation Club would be considered a worthwhile visit for all music enthusiasts in Rio Mesa. Once you step into Mr. Saunders’ room P-6, you will be surrounded by posters of The Beatles and people who love playing music, who gather on Wednesdays to jam.

Mr. Saunders said there are three main focuses of this club. First, club members make CDs for one another, exposing each other to new music and sounds.“Even music lovers need help in discovering new music sometimes,” he said. Second, kids bring their instruments and jam out and for those who don’t play, this can be a start. Third, they go on field trips to various Hollywood record stores.

Rio Mesa junior, Ferris McInty restated her thoughts on their last field trip, “Really Fun! Last field trip was to the biggest record store, Amoeba! We walked around Hollywood Blvd and went to Guitar Center over there and everyone grabbed an instrumentand played them!”

Rio Mesa junior Max Muscarella, who is also Co-President of the club said, “We have gone to TheGrammy Museum. We’ll go to record stores and then eat something, just hang out. It’s a lot of fun! People should join this club if they like music, having fun and playing music.”

They embarked on their last journey to Rockaway Records and are expecting more similar trips. Therefore, if you want to take part in trips like these then don’t wait and join the club.
