Last Tuesday Cam’s varsity volleyball team played against Valley Christian for a pass to the final at Cam’s gym.

The game started at 7 o’clock, and the gym was full of students from both high schools, and members from our staff including Ms. Nelson, Ms Lawler, Mr. Carroll, assistant principal Mr. Senessac, Principal Glen Lipman and some campus supervisors. The team started to play with courage and dedication but they were overcome by Valley Christian’s offensive line and lost the first set.

During the second set Cam high’s team kept fighting to tie but they were not successful on this set also. Coach Rob Vandermay started to give instructions to the players and won their first set. During the fourth set, the last set, both teams gave all of their strength to achieve victory and pass to the final. Valley Christian won the fourth set giving them the victory 3-1.

“I am proud of my team, they gave everything in the court but the other team just played better than us that night” said Coach Vandermay. Cam High’s record this season was 27-3, including this last game. They won two tournaments, the Cam classic, Cam High being the host , and the San Luis Obispo Tournament. This is the first time that a Cam High’s volleyball team has achieved this in one season. “We had a tremendous season, every team will wish to have a record like us” said Coach Vandermay “And next season even though we will lose 5 seniors, 5 solid JV players will join the Varsity team, and we will still be strong next season”
