Feeder Dual Language Immersion

Oxnard Union Supportive Pathway for Incoming Dual Immersion Students

Students transferring or enrolling into Oxnard Union from a dual-immersion program have a supportive pathway within the Oxnard Union to continue their development of both the Spanish and English languages. Our schools offer a selection of French, German, and Spanish (Check with your high school counselor for course offerings).

Students may continue taking advanced language courses as their elective, and most languages offer an AP or IB language exam to offer college credit. Students are also eligible to earn the State Seal of Biliteracy in their target language(s).

For students wanting to earn a seal in American Sign Language, those courses are offered through dual enrollment at the community college level. Additionally, a free AVANT exam can be used to satisfy the SSB requirement for languages not offered by the district, such as Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Mixteco, Punjabi, and Tagalog.
