Teaching & Educational Careers Academy (TECA)
Become a Leader
The Teaching and Educational Careers Academy (TECA) is a three-year elective program designed to give students with an interest in the fields of education and social services an inside glimpse. Students will gain experience with elementary, junior high, high school, and special needs students through their pathway experiences. This academy prepares students for college, establishes and maintains bilingual abilities and strengthens student’s leadership abilities. Students will have the opportunity to gain certification and get a job as a paraprofessional directly out of high school. Graduates will possess the personal and critical thinking skills needed for both college and career success. Working with teachers and mentors, they will learn the skills to make their passions a reality.
Academies help students explore their talents and use their experiences in the classroom to select a career path that they’re passionate about.
