Culinary Arts Academy
A Passion for Food
The Pacifica Culinary Arts Academy provides students with in-depth, hands-on experiences that emphasize industry awareness, sanitation, and food production. Students will prepare for competitions in FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America), ProStart, CCAP (Careers Through Culinary Arts Program), and Sweets by the Beach. This career pathway helps student by providing guidance, coursework, and work-based learning experiences used in the culinary industry, in an effort to give students an advantage in the job market.
Academies helps students explore their talents and use their experiences in the classroom to help select a career path that they are passionate about.
Prepare in the Classroom
Build a strong foundation with A-G approved courses and prepare yourself for an exciting new career in culinary arts. Classes include:
- Culinary Foundations CA
- Cultural Cuisine CA
- Baking and Pastry CA
- Culinary Arts and Restaurant Management CA (H)
Get Real Exposure
Take what you learn out into the real world and see first-hand what awaits you in the culinary field. Hands-on, in-depth immersive experiences may include:
- Guest Speakers
- Internships & Competitions
- Field Trips such as: Long Beach Aquarium, Dodger Stadium Culinary Tour, Farmers Market, Rincon Catering Facilities Griffith Observatory/Restaurant Tour of City Walk, Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History
