Requests for Information (RFI's) & Answers:

Q: I saw your posted bid. I noticed that the bid said all items on the spreadsheets had to be completed. Are we able to bid just the bread items and those we carry? We do not carry any frozen items nor any tortilla/taco. We wouldn’t have anything on the longer worksheet.

A: You can bid on only the items you carry but you would need to supply both Exhibit A and Exhibit A-1, signed. You would state "no bid" on items you are not providing pricing on.

Q: May we have the Manufacturers and MPCs for the items in the USDA section of the RFP? The Super Co-Op no longer publishes a list of all of the manufacturers that commodity lbs are diverted to, so without the Manufacturer/MPC we are not able to determine if we are bidding an item OUHSD can use commodity lbs on. Also, one of the quantities shows “ric” would you please provide updated volume?

A: For the quantity for Alaska Pollock, please reply 70 cases (40# case). Additional information forthcoming.

Q: Aren’t Super Coop Members contractually obligated to purchase USDA Brown Box from Gold Star? Does OUHSD not have a list of Commodity Items / Processing Diversion/Direct Diversion (NOI, Closed SKU NOI, Fee for Service) items? If so, which items are those? I only see the brown box and the commercial items.

A: When items are not available in brown box, Oxnard Union HSD will buy commercial equivalent products. Those commercial equivalent products and product numbers are listed in the right-hand most columns.

Any NOIs and Fee for Service can be added in the left-hand columns under "Net Off Invoice" and "Fee for Service".

Attached is what we put on our entitlement survey, but this does not give us a direct list of products.

Q: Is the USDA section brown box? If so, please provide clear indication on which items are commodity items and which items are commercial, please. In the past the Super Coop items and the Commercial items were in different sections.

A: The spreadsheet is divided into USDA which is "brown box" and commercial. The items that are under the USDA "brown box" has two areas where proposers can give commercial costs as well. Please see snippets below.

Q: On Attachment A, USDA

The delivery of USDA Direct Delivery Foods is awarded to Gold Star Foods under RFP SUPER-01-24 on behalf of all Super Co-Op members and cannot be awarded separately under an individual Super Co-Op member contract.

Is the expectation for providing pricing for the USDA items under Column H – Net off Invoice and/or Column I – Fee for Service to provide (where applicable) the equivalent further processed item? If so, where should we identify the manufacturer item number for these NOI/FFS items?

A: The commercial equivalents are in the right hand most column. If the commercial equivalents are not matching the vendors’ commercial equivalents, the vendor can cross out the commercial item manufacturing code and pack to and add their commercial equivalent. The proposer can put the NOI and  fee for service in columns H and I.
