Persimmon Party

Notice the season shifting — the sun sets earlier, the nights grow colder, and leaves begin to fall. Our bodies naturally start to slow down as well.

We’re celebrating the turn into fall with in-season, organic, local produce, featured in our “Harvest of the Month.”

November’s Harvest of the Month is Persimmon!

Available in the cafeteria on Wednesday and Friday, enjoy a crisp and refreshing persimmon salad complemented by green apples and fresh mint.

Gratitude can Change Your Life

Stop for a moment. Take a deep breath. Notice what sensations arise in your body. Take another breath. Now, name three things you are grateful for today.

Practices like this can truly transform your health. Experts at Harvard say that a gratitude practice can improve mental health, increase sleep quality, support cardiovascular health, and even reduce depression.

This season of thankfulness is the perfect time to bring gratitude into your daily life. Try practicing thankfulness each day and notice the difference it can make.

Dia De Los Muertos

Families honor their loved ones during Día de los Muertos by creating colorful ofrendas decorated with photos, candles, marigolds, and favorite foods. Cemeteries are filled with music, laughter, and the glow of candles as families gather to share memories. Calaveras and joyful skeletons remind us that death is part of life — not an ending, but a continuation of love and connection. This celebration is a beautiful reminder that our stories, traditions, and memories keep those we cherish forever close to our hearts.
