In the classroom, Leslie’s positivity, hard work, and intellectual curiosity create a dynamic and joyful learning environment. She currently maintains a 3.47 GPA at Oxnard College and an impressive 3.68 GPA with OMC. As a 10th-grade student, Leslie has already earned 18 college units in just 1 ½ years, showcasing her commitment and dedication to academic excellence. Beyond academics, Leslie is an active and engaged member of her community. She regularly volunteers at events such as the Christmas Toy Drive, Banana Festival, and local running events, demonstrating her compassion and civic-mindedness. As an outstanding member of the National Honor Society, Leslie exemplifies leadership and service. Her creative talents are equally noteworthy. Last semester, she researched and presented a highly informative and well-crafted project on international corruption, reflecting her intellectual curiosity and passion for learning. Leslie’s artistic achievements are equally remarkable. Last year, she earned the prestigious Artist of Distinction award at the Carnegie Art Cornerstones exhibit contest, where she was one of only five high school students honored. This recognition highlights her exceptional creativity and dedication to her craft. Leslie’s unique combination of academic prowess, artistic talent, and community engagement makes her a truly remarkable individual and a role model for her peers.

Salvador Madrigal's dedication has not gone unnoticed; both high school teachers and college professors alike have commended him for his exceptional work ethic and determination. In the sphere of academic excellence, Salvador stands out as a beacon of perseverance, leadership, and service. Salvador has earned 35 college units and a remarkable GPA of 3.50 at Oxnard College and a 3.45 GPA in high school. His achievements reflect not only his intellect but also his tenacity. His contributions, however, extend far beyond grades. Beyond academics, Salvador has distinguished himself as a compassionate and service-oriented individual. His active involvement in volunteering at local hospitals, highlights his dedication to giving back to the community and further showcases his sense of responsibility and empathy. His presence is a true asset—radiating kindness, compassion, responsibility, and a remarkable level of conscientiousness. Always proactive, he approaches every task with a thoughtful and committed attitude. As an AVID tutor, his dedication and excellence shine through, making him not only a role model but an invaluable resource to those he mentors.

Estrella Garcia is an exceptional and driven 12th-grade student whose academic achievements and unwavering commitment to excellence set her apart. With an impressive 57 college units already under her belt and a remarkable 3.91 GPA at Oxnard College, Estrella is a true embodiment of academic rigor and intellectual curiosity. Her dedication to her studies earned her a fully funded trip to the University of Chicago in the summer of 2024, a recognition of her potential and scholarly excellence. Beyond the classroom, Estrella’s involvement in extracurricular activities speaks to her diverse talents and passion for making a positive impact. She is a respected and active member of the National Honor Society (NHS), where she contributes to its mission of promoting academic achievement and community service. As the current Vice President of the Future Leaders of America (FLA), Estrella has played an instrumental role in fostering leadership and organizational skills among her peers. Her leadership is evident as she spearheads community events and Youth Leadership conferences, creating opportunities for others to develop their leadership potential. Estrella's commitment to service and advocacy is evident in her volunteer efforts. She has been a passionate advocate for the community through her work with FLA, where she has organized informational sessions on the dangers of secondhand smoke, raising awareness on public health issues. Her volunteer work extends to other community organizations and events, such as the Banana Festival, where she actively contributes her time and efforts. Additionally, Estrella has generously tutored fellow students at the Ray D. Prueter Library and currently serves as an AVID tutor at Oxnard Middle College, providing guidance and support to younger students. Her dedication to helping others also includes volunteering with Southwinds Food Pantry, where she participates in food distribution efforts to support those in need. Estrella is also a well-rounded athlete, having been a dedicated member of the tennis team at Channel Islands High School for the past three years.
